I had to review this because it is my favorate climbing video. This is one I can come back to time and time again and never get bored with. If you are a serious climber looking for a video with lot's of climbing and not too much jumping of stuff, this is for you.
If there is one beef I have it is that there is not a lot of Trad climing in it, but for that, buy 'Front Range Freaks'. Bachar's soloing is awsome, as are his comments.

There is 15min of good footage on this film. They are as follows.
- Cave rock (interesting rock)
- Todd skinner on the brilliant Throwin the Houlihan, Wild Iris (14a). Gotta love those pockets.
- Kurt Smith with his sweet hairdo, crushing at Rifle. I imagine this was during the elitist secretive days.
- Jim Karn on Scarface at Smith Rock. It's a beautiful looking route.
If you appreciate history, then this video is worth the admission for this 15 minutes alone. Or maybe some classic quote's...
"Climbers are like gunfighters, theres always someone quicker on the draw.." |
