An inspiring video about 5 super strong motivated women. I started doing pull ups while watching the vid! |

Okay, I think I'm going to let the blurbs from the back of the box do the talking on this one, because I think, being a guy rather than a gal climber, I'm probably not qualified to review it. So heres what it says...
"This new film is focused on revealing connections, the connections between overcoming the obstacles of climbing and overcoming the obstacles of real life. 'A Day in the Life' beautifully explores the subject matter by entering the lives of 5 women climbers. Each woman represents a different age, personality and lifestyle. This vibrant mixture of femininity and raw determination combine in harmony to create a film that delivers hope, encouragement and inspiration"....
I'm guessing the video would provide considerable inspiration and insight for female climbers, and possibly be a great encouragement for new comers to the sport. It terms of the interviews themselves, and the advice offered there-in, I found the focus to be more on the emotional aspects of climbing rather than how to get insanely strong and pull crazy dynos or something that you'd possibly expect from a male cast. Hmmm, maybe that's making a sweeping generalisation and stereotyping, but I think what I'm trying to say is that there is some good advice to be found here if you're open to it that kind of thing. On the other hand if all you want is to see video of strong guys falling off poorly protected , hard routes then obviously this is not the movie for you.
Think of it more as a documentary that focuses on the characters more than the climbs. Though it does feature the first female ascent of the crux pitch of Lurking Fear 5.13c. |
