This is the first book of the Greg Child I have read. It's a collection of articles he wrote about his climbing experiences over the years, some for magazines, others not previously published (as at the time of publication - 93). Best summed up by his own words in the Preface:
"This collection of stories covers a lot of ground, from first ascents on the rock faces of El Capitan to summits of Himalayan massifs such as Gasherbrum IV, Trango Tower & K2, to treks in remote Nepal, to profiles of climbers I admire."

Took me a while to get into it, but it grows on you. In all I thoroughly enjoyed it and am now looking at other works written by this Aussie.
