The first true bouldering video ever made (1994). The film is shot on a hand-held cam-corder by Ben Pritchard and Ben Moon (who edited, directed, produced and starred in it). The footage is raw and unpolished - with the sound quality being somewhat poor in a few of the scenes. Nevertheless, it shows some very rare insights into some of the hardest problems in the UK - some of which were the hardest in the world when they were established (such as Superman V12+ in 1988). The film also shows the infamous Minus Ten Wall and Tom's Roof locations - which were responsible for the legendary power of people like Moon and Moffatt in the 80's/early 90's - and what later spawned the now relatively modern training appartus of Cellars (aka Woodies). At the time that it was shot, Moon was in top form having just recently put up The Sea of Tranquility (8c+/34) in Wales, as well as continually working his Kilnsey project (now known as Northern Lights (9a/35). The problems featured include Deliverance (7b+); The Green Traverse (7a); The Thing (8a); Superman (8a+); Pinch II (8b); Megatron Turbo (7b) (blindfolded!); Jerryattricks (7c+); Staminaband/Pump Up the Power link (route grade of 34/35); Bashers Problem (7c+); as well as the now famous Schoolroom board. The footage of Moon campusing 1-4-7-4-1 five times in a row should alone satisfy any power junkie... It suffers from a montone narrative by Moon, and in some cases bad photography, but if you like bouldering - then this is a must-have.
