Mad Dog 8/9/2003	People tend to either love or hate Paul Piana and Todd Skinner, so opinions on this book have an equally wide range. I can say that the photography is excellent and the routes that these two climbed are impressive. Some of the cowboy aspect can be a bit much but if you met these guys and hung out with them a bit, you'd see that part of it is tongue in cheek.
Anonymous 8/16/2005	I grew up with Paul in the unknown small town of Newcastle, Wyoming USA. Paul basically learned his trade in the Needles of South Dakota's Black Hills where we used to climb. I remember that summer day quite well that Paul began leaving the rest of us mortals...he bloomed into a climber all of a sudden one day when he did three major 5.8s and one major 5.9 (Kingpin I think) ... it was all "nuts" from there. NO FEAR before it was a lame brand name.... Do not hesitate to buy this book. The photography alone is worth the price and, as Royal Robbins (our old hero) says in the introduction, "a great read".... Nuff said. Hats OFF Paulio!!
Sabu 5/25/2007	As said previously the photography in this book is absolutely brilliant. Their accounts of the wall are inspiring and invigirating almost to the point where one is tempted to pick up the rack and head to the nearest big wall, thankfully sense always catches up. A great read and even bette rthe flick through during a streak of boredom at home to send the imagination wondering and it remains a testiment (along with many other publications) to the life of Tod Skinner. The climbing community will certainly miss him.
