Okay, here's what I'd like to do. Over on the Chockstone Articles page I'd like to build up a series of interviews with prominent Australian climbers, (probably with a focus on those based in Victoria since that's what this site is all about). When I say "prominent", I don't just mean climbers pulling down grade 30 and above, but also people who are interesting to talk to, have stories to tell, something to contribute.
I'd like the opportunity to conduct the interview, if not in person, then via email, and preferably accompany the climber on a trip or two so that I could take photos and video to present here. Obviously there wouldn't be any money in it. The interview wouldn't be anything formal, and any material wouldn't see production other than this site.
Am I dreaming, or is this an achievable thing? Is this, in fact, something that readers of this site would be interested in? And the big one, the reason I have posted -: Does anyone know or have contact details for prominent local climbers, who would be interested in contributing in this way, or at least letting me tag along to photograph/film them?
Any help would be appreciated. I've had some leads already. The interview with Jacqui, got this idea started. Can anyone else help? Neil, you know some hard climber types don't you? In fact, I think you'd make a good interviewee yourself - how about it?
The sort of thing I had in mind is kind of like the interviews page on Australian Bouldering, though obviously more aimed towards free climbers, and hopefully with more of a multi-media theme. |
