Hey Sabu,

Both bags are probably simular in the quality of the down. I've found the zips and baffles on the Vango bags a bit better.
Either bag would be totally fine in NZ - neither has a dry loft or simular lining, so you would want a bivi bag/tent/hut.
In the past I have used a Black Wolf Vertical limit 100 (plus blankets, down vest, and thermals) in NZ huts.

The vango bag is 1600 grams, and pack down size is 7 litres. Although in reality with a bit of work you could get it down smaller (with compression bags) - think of about 4 -5 x 1 litre cartons of milk, and you get the picture.
