I carry a small "oh sh*t" stuffsack in the bottom of my pack. It has a plb, a tiny headlamp, waterproof matches, a bit of firestarting material (drier lint), and an emergency blanket. It weighs about as much as a #3 cam, but contains a lot of useful stuff. (I'm not a guide, and this isn't sufficient for a guide leading a large group)
