I've almost pressed "submit" twice on an order from "that mob" (mountain laurel designs) for their Event Soul bivi bag. It's had some great reviews on the lightweight backpacking sites and at about 350g for a full featured bivi it comes in at over a half kilo lighter than my current bag. But...14 weeks lead time (made individually to order) and $355 + shipping...ouch.
It's really surprising that the big outdoor companies haven't picked up on the use cuben fibre for alpine gear. There are a string of cottage companies making cuben tents/tarps/packs for backpacking, but no-one seems to be focused on climbing. |
