well, there is 1 gear shop here (small city in mexico) and they dont have a hot knife. the guy there tried the tape and lighter thing....didnt work...was at portrero(a bit hot for climbing...did the bottom 4 pitches of an 11 pitch) and the guy who has put up half the new routes there was the other guy who had a go with his gas stove....the problem is not really fraying but part of the core starts pushing through.
is heating a knife really worth trying??? dont want cut more ends off if i dont have to. are there any tricks to use if heating with a stove? |
