850 is a frequency (MHz) and it's the same across all nextg (wcdma) cells urban or rural. The speed is not dependent on where you are either.
AFAIK telstra phones don't roam as they already have the largest network (~20000 cells)
V and O don't share their whole 3G network. They do share infrastructure on some sites.
T definitely has the best coverage, V the worst and O somewhere in between, but they're rolling out more cells at the moment.
All phones will roam to 112 emergency depending if they are quad-band or not, ie phones can't roam to telstra 850 sites if they only support 900-1800. |
