Ive got the john long climbing anchors book which is handy for building belays etc which served its purpose on my first Trad trip to Arapiles last month. I cant compare it to the other version though.

SELF RESCUE Improvised solutions for serious situations is worth buying for sure! The step by step photos are quite easy to follow and theres more information in there than you'll need i think

something you may find interesting as i did is the knot effieciency table showing the percentage of strength lost when using certain knots.
eg bowline loss = 26-45%
overhand on a bight = 32-42%
figure 8 follow through = 19-34%

Buy all the books you can absorb, the more knowledge you gain the safer you can climb without the need for bucket loads of gear
