Give it a good wash out with fuelite (white spirits) to loosen and remove old oil/crud, leave to dry out for a few hours and check if its loosened up, if not repeat until it does.
(work the cam while its wet with the fuelite)
Give it a good spray with CRC Dri Glide (a wet spray on wax with teflon that dries and leaves a coating of dry lubricant that doesn't attract or hold dirt) making sure you get it into the main pivot axle.
Leave this to dry out properly for several hours before using, it will be stiff at first until you break the seal of dry wax but will free up nicely with a bit of use. |
