I remember reading a report on impact force testing (using standard FF 1.77) for half ropes using the single rope standard weight of 80kg. The impact forces recorded were about the same as a single rope.
Not sure how the impact force would register for 2 half ropes and 80kg test, I would imagine higher than a single.
