slightly different but poitive take on ibuprofen. after badly straining a hip flexor? several years ago, the inflammation and therefore pain just got worse and worse over a couple of days until I couldn't even lie down to sleep, ibuprofen, taken after finally seeking advice very quickly became my favourite legal drug. short of a fortnights total rest I don't think I would have got better without it. Have not taken it since but decided after this experience that I would never enter any sort of serious wilderness without the stuff in the first aid kit, gives me a hell of a lot more peace of mind than panadeine forte which I also carry .
