| I've had two shoulder arthro's. First one was looking for a possible SLAP, didn't find it, instead pulled the labrum up to thicken/stabilise the joint. Second operation, (just under 3 weeks ago now), was to
go in and remove a whole lot scar tissue. While in there they found a stitch which had not dissolved
(from the first surgery 18 months prior!).

My main issue was nothing showed up on CT/MRI/X-Ray prior to either surgery, but could not move
my left arm above shoulder height without excruciating pain, and could bear very little weight. Oh,
 also had a MUA
(manipulation under anasthetic) and a hyrdodilitation inbetween the two surgeries.

No sling at all after my second surgery, had one for 2-3 weeks i think after my first one. straight in to
physio day after i was out of hospital. 2-3 times a week since then. No timeline for recovery but 2nd
surgery has had the most positive outcome so far.

Pain has varied, have had some sleep issues after this 2nd surgery, but i'm stubborn and don't like
pain meds. nearly 3 weeks post op now and it's not too bad.

Greg Hoy - Melbourne - did both of mine. got opinions from two other respected surgeons, one in
melbourne was pretty good, almost went with him for 2nd op. the third opinion from Tassie was a tool
 and useless!

fingers crossed for both of you guys with your recovery. Do ALL of your prescribed physio, play
sensible and you'll get back sooner. i didn't and i'm paying for it.
