Ouch…not a pleasant injury to have. Here’s a bit of general info on Talus fractures:
http://orthoinfo.aaos.org/fact/thr_report.cfm?Thread_ID=354&topcategory=Foot
It’s pretty unusual not to have surgery, as the talus has a limited blood supply which can be disrupted by fractures. Hopefully you didn’t have any displacement because if the blood supply is cut off you can get avascular necrosis (death of the talus) and then collapse of the talus body. This can lead to arthritis and stiffness – and surgery.
Q1 Sounds like a reasonable pattern of recovery (from my experience as an orthopaedic nurse) – and “no pressure on foot” really means no pressure - even if your other leg gets sore from hopping around. I would recommend seeing a physio after your cast is removed as well. Your ankle’s likely to be really stiff and it’s gonna take some time to get the range of motion back. My partner broke his ankle (fibular) in May and he’s still in a bit of pain sometimes. Recovery’s a long, slow process unfortunately. As for bouldering… get yourself a playstation if you haven’t got one already – I hear there’s a new game out – Gunter’s Big Day or something :) Good luck!
