Haglund's Deformity (Pump Bump)
Haglund's deformity is a bony growth on the back of the heel bone, which then irritates the bursa and the skin lying behind the heel bone. It is commonly called a "pump bump." It develops when the back of your shoe repeatedly rubs against the back of the heel, irritating the bursa and skin overlying the bone.

I have these on my heels from rock boots. Looks like an extra heel slightly outboard.
I've been recommended to have them ground down, then take to wearing more sensible shoes (read: not rock boots. Start aid climbing and wear sneakers). This doesn't sound very sensible to me.

Anyone else have any similar issues?
