When I saw the previous topic about doing stupid things in the Grose I thought someone had seen us paused for some time on the second pitch of Burgermeister yesterday.

A fellow climber who has asked to remain nameless and I decided it was a good day to do Burgermeister or Weaselburger or both yesterday. Not much wind so decided to rap the route using a 9.4 and 8.1mm 60 m ropes. I go down first and put a directional draw on the anchor of pitch 2 which is just below a small roof (30m down) to keep me in and just in case the ropes dont reach the anchor of pitch 1. They do with about 4m to spare. FCWHATRN comes down and we start pulling (the 9.4). Its quite hard and after about 15m, with the thin rope disappearing slowly skywards it finally clicks the FCWHATRN did not remove draw, but reclipped the rope after he had passed. The ground is 35m away.

FCWHATRN does not quite see the problem at this stage, but has been self flagellating ever since. Obviously we are still not stuck there. Had prussiks but no parachute. How would you deal with this stuff up?

PS nice climb once I got to do it, but getting off the ledge for pitch 2 is ridiculous without aiding on a draw.
