The cheesehead Mat....

It was an ace trip. Ice is so wierd though. Sometimes I took falls where one axe just stuck in the ice beautifully - leaving me dangling by a leash, but not likely to go any further. Bomber. Then at other times 2 seemgingly solid tool placements can just blast off the wall with a big chunk of Norweigan ice.
Admittedly, you'd get good at judging the ice after a while.
The others thought I was bit psychotic beacuse I wanted to see someone (even myself) take an ice lead fall. I guess it was morbid curiosity, but no one did (perhaps for the better)

At least Rjukan presented fewer occasions of hot aches than winter gritstone bouldering...
I'm surprised Paulie and Gemma didn't get sick - with something like a 50 degree temperature difference from the Murray in sumertime....

I'll do some story writing and photo posting when I get them developed.
