Hi, I am with you. Living around the peninsular is frustrating to say the least. It seems incredible that every part of the peninsular is so precious that MTB riding and climbing are criminal offences, (thats the feeling anyway) Yet NZ, Thredbo and other amazing places can cope.
At the end of the day the quarry could do with some real activity around it to make it more appealing to walkers and others It could be beautfiul place to climb with the amphitheatre feel and water, even though short runs and a little doggy. The place could be set to handle climbers and in fact the climbers could do lots to improve the place for others to enjoy
I have aften gone there in my moments of temptation and looked at the rock, theres heaps to climb (well sort of in my dilusional moments) and I cannot understand the damage issue either and guessed it was about the crap of liability.
I would be rapt to get together with a group to make a submission or something to whoever. I have even thought of climbing with a group to bring the issue up and see where it went legally, and even considered the angel that the sign says NO ABSEILING so I could walk down, and not break rules.
Would love to do somethning about it, YY and brisbane and the other quick day trips from the peninsular arent so quick. Its enough to move to the city.
Im up for a considered revolution to be able to enjoy something close. Geting tired of scraping around the rocks of the bay pretending to climb.
