Just come back from Arapiles with mixed emotions....
Thought the first pitch of WOTAS was absolutely 'stella' with two well positioned bolts.
However, the 3rd pitch is a nightmare.......
"Go up the crack then BOLDLY up". Got two good pieces in the crack then launched up (two possible ways at this point, directly up to the layaway or right on incuts), although there was a R.P placement at about 6 metres above my last piece it was not a good place to stop, so went further up. Clearly a fall from here would mean hittting the belay ledge.
Is there any prospect of getting a bolt placed on this pitch ? (would be in keeping with the first pitch)
It would then make it safe and consequently a more popular route.
(I would have hated to be on my leading limit on that pitch)
