Rifle,not surprisingly, had several gun shops, but the sports store didnt sell chalk and the local library had no climbing guides. You need a car in the USA for sure.
The canyon was pretty but I wouldnt say its world class limestone. Everything to 24 was polished++++
About half a day drive west is Moab and American Fork and the weird conglomerate of Maple Canyon. Half a day east is Golden (volcanic rock, nothing super, but it is above the Coors brewery), Eldorado Canyon (sandstone, right up there with Arapiles for class) and Estes Park+ Lumpy Ridge (granite) or go and check out the Diamond on Longs Peak.
If you insist on sports climbing limestone in the USA a nicer option would be to go to Landers in Wyoming and climb at SInks Canyon and Wild Iris. Landers has a climbing shop, and a climbing community, and a really great bakery.
