Having said that the first year i rocked up there with two others to the camp is full sign and went in and pleaded my case and they took me on a tour and snuck us in amongst a bunch of seppos. So tightly packed couldn't get the poles staked so just lashed the tent to a tree. Uncomfortable but still one of the best nights of my life.

Unsure if you've been before but the place is 24 carat. On any given day you get some great short sport limestone climbing, 3 of the best swimming holes anywhere with boudlering straight out of the water, stand and deliver wrestling on the "tyrolean traverses" over the river, fireworks, firetwirlers, probably a band and lots of stanky weed.

Be sure to lounge in Takaka while your there, a very cool place on rest days.
