Temporary closure of Mt Zero Road – commencing Monday 23 July 2012
Bridge repair works will commence within Grampians National Park on Monday 23rd July 2012. The repair works will focus on the Briggs Creek Bridge, located on the Halls Gap-Mt Zero Road, 1km north of Roses Gap Road.
These works will require the complete closure of the Halls Gap-Mt Zero Road between Roses Gap Road and Golton Track (Golton Gorge Picnic Area) for a period of two weeks commencing Monday 23rd July 2012. Signs will be placed at the closure providing a suggested detour to Hollow Mountain by taking the Roses Gap Road to the Western Highway and then taking the northern access into the park from the Highway.
The bridge works will involve repairing the outer beams on both sides by reinforcing with steel rods and poured concrete formwork. The bridge will then be reinstated to its former rating and both lanes of the bridge re-opened.
