There's a little bouldering area near the pumping station at Narrowneck with an easy traverse and some harder stuff under "Codeine Kid" and "LSD". The easy traverse is a nice warm up and good practice for beginner climbers.
In the last few weeks, someone has started bashing rocks into the larger holds on the easy traverse so they're unusable - presumably a climber, 'cause they were put back in after I took them all out.
I'm all for filling in chipped holds, but as far I know, these aren't chipped - or if they were, it must have been 15-20 years ago or more. More likely, they were created when the whole traverse was "chipped" out of the cliff to make way for the road. So I don't see the point of this - if anyone finds the well-established traverse too easy, why not just avoid the big holds?
If you're doing this, can you post or PM me to explain what you're up to - otherwise we're both going to waste a lot of time - you filling in the holds and me diggin them out again!
