Yeah I must admit that I am not sure about the current status of climbing/bolting at Tarana. I know that there have been proposals to end all climbing there in recent years, in addition to the current bolting ban. I believe that this bolting ban extends to rebolting which is why some good routes there will eventually go the way of the dodo. Take six days on the toad for example. Its bolts are probably bomb proof but I tend to treat them with a fair bit of suspicion. Some routes are well protected (eg Dr Martens Boots - except the first clip) while others are more standard granite fare (Up the Nose of Love) which makes them less obvious.

The first wall you come to has a few good routes, a few worthless routes, and quite a few very obvious bristly bolts. I suspect that if all of these bolts were removed then any issues would be resolved...
