Hey guys, last time I was down at the point I spied what looked to be some kind of mega-offwidth and I was wondering if anyone knows anything about it. The crack in question is in the lighthouse enclosure, and if memory serves it's on the wall to the right of the northern exposure wall (i.e. starting from the same ledge but on the wall at 90 degrees to that one and to the right looking towards the cliff). The wall is slightly overhanging the whole way and the crack size looks very consistent, starting out a bit offset to one side and changing to offset the other way at around half height. I couldn't find any info about it in either the 2001 guide, the SRC updates or the ACA route register, but it's such an obvious feature that it must have bee climbed. So has anyone done it, or know anything?
Anyway, I'm heading down to Pt Perp for the ANZAC day long weekend, so I'll be able to get a closer look. Such an awesome place. Are the rumours true that someone is working on a new guidebook? |
