If kids want to play on plastic and turn comp climbing into an olympic sport (which they do) what dif does it make? Personally I have more issue with first ascents of gear routes being done in poor style then poseur hard climbers wanting to get exposure. For one thing, FA's done crappy really does drag down ethics, getting paid to climb v15 or 9a doesnt do anything negative I can see except its maybe a bit wanky(with the whole photo session like maybe glowatz on LOR). The bravest boldest trad climbers who started the whole thing, namely Wolfgang and Faucett were also the first pro climbers. The list goes on from there. Also, whats the difference between being a photo slut part time and being mr. trad the other, or just always being a photo slut? So if youve climbed scarry trad FA's then you can pose on a bolted route for the cool photo session, but if your a stickman boulderer you dont have the right? I just cant see why anyone is getting worked up over chris wanting to get more money in comps and sponsorship in Oz climbing. How can that possibly be bad for climbing in Australia? Girls DO come out of comp climbing to Araps. Im speaking from experience, dude if you know what I mean... ;)
