Rock climbing with trees as part of the experience |

I think it's weird but it's also part of the experience to come across vegetation on route whilst rock climbing. Felt a bit iffy the first time I slung one but got told it's pretty norm, esp out Wolgan way.
Then there's the vegetation you find on alpine routes and let me tell you, you do not want to be slinging them. Be about as good as slinging a wet bar of soap in a flaring limestone crack. Frozen vegetation is another matter, in which case the hard bit is retrieving your sharp bits once you've driven them in solid. If you've Scottish blood in ya you'll probably have to stop jizzing your pants first! |
