The birds and the bees-
Pecked by a bird nesting on Short Cut to Exposure (Wanaka), stung by a bee which didn't appreciate my slap for the top bouldering (Port Stephens), climbed Toccata (Araps) at several grades harder than 14 when nesting bees kept emerging from all the face holds and most recently placed my hand in a pile of pigeon poo on the Bastille Crack (Colorado).Yuk.
There is also appraently a snake living in a crack on Connie at Monkey Face in the Watagans which makes it a winter only ascent option! I was told the snake one day became airborne, landing on the belayer who was undergoing assessment at the time. Apparently they held on and passed. |
