I think the nostalgia is getting to you. UK weather really is sh*t (compared to Sydney - I won't speak for Melb). I'm certainly not going to miss suffering through the relentless drizzle and grey skies for most of the year, hanging out for the 3 weeks of dry weather we used to call 'summer.' I climb out side all year round now and barely miss a weekend or after work because, oh yeah I forgot - it isn't pitch black by 4 in the arvo after Nov. Stuff is no more expensive (but then I did live in London) and imho, many UK crags are great an all that but there is nothing comparable to Taipan or the Araps.
