Try not to confuse your limited recreational experience with the decision making processes of professionals.

( If you have a decade of professional canyon guiding experience then I apologise)

Look at the stats - accidents happen to amateurs, and guides and cops have to rescue them.

Oh, Avalanches - I spend plenty of time in the mountains - I've even got professional avalanche qualifications !
