Driving to the crags is highly over-rated. The advantages of having a driver being:
1. You can sleep on the way to the crag
2. You can have a few travellers on the way home
3. You can send the driver to pick up coffee / lunch / whatever
4. Your driver can watch your gear at the cliff base and chase away the scary locals
5. Driver can take great bum shots
6. Driver can negotiate with local forest officials while you run away and hide the drill
7. If driver crashes the car he can take the heat while you run away from the gathering lynch mob.
8. Driver can belay (badly)
