I started climbing in Jan 2008 and I'm 47. I never feel self-conscious just would like to
have discovered it an earlier age! I was lucky to have a friend out from the States who
was a good climber and he threw me in the deep end. My first real experience with
outdoor climbing was at Mt Buffalo - very confronting! And then we went to Araps. I had
a great start. Since then I have partnered up with someone who is around the same
level as me and we just bumble along together having a great time (both just started
leading). I also get out with other friends more experienced than me who tend to push
me a little harder.

jacq - PM me if you ever feel like getting outdoors for a climb. It would be nice to climb
with another female around the same age. Nothing against the guys I climb with (they're
great!)....I just never get to climb with women. I have rack, rope etc.
