I realise that this is probably a little late, but the guy quite clearly wasn't lost for 12 days in bush. One evening on the TV I saw his lungs being examined by a doctor using a stethoscope on his exposed back. Zero scratches or bruises. Then when they showed the 60 minutes story where he was floundering around in the bush where the reported (Tara?) was staying quite comfortably upright convinced me that if he had been doing that for even a portion of the 12 days he was lost then he would have been scratched all over. Having walked offtrack for many years and suffered the bruises, scratches, etc from that I am convinced that he could not have been keeping to the creeks or whatever nonsense he convinced the police he did. I have been geographically embarassed in the Blueys before and also walked and rogained through there quite a bit. Unless you keep to the dry wide creek beds, the bottoms of valleys and gullies can often be considerably worse than the ridges.
