maybe the 22 grade is only because of the sustained nature of the climbing and in reality the moves are easy. Maybe train lots on easier routes. At cliffhanger we usually finish the night with laps (with the only rests being lowered off) of the easy red 15 to the left of the slab. Focus on maintaining strong technique the whole time. Try up and down climbing if your belayer is good enough. As you say you have no difficulty in pulling on small holds so train on something else, and give your fingers a rest. Just a thought. Although I reckon that the AME wall is a bit of an acquired taste that to me tastes like a mixture between wild turkey and gravel. |
