what i like/find fascinating about fear is that no matter how dipassionately you try to assess your situation (wether your fear is justified or is to be ignored) the amount of fear you experience seems very variable. This runs counter to my self image in which I see myself as a cold bastard ie the same or similar climb and approx fitness levels should produce the same fear, but it doesn't. I find this to be even more pronounced when I only climb intermittantly which is always. I can't help thinking that this whole fear and climbing thing is somehow an illustration of the nature of reality, will not attempt to extrapolate this. |
