It's certainly not without precedent.... think of Stone Roses or No More Gaps at Nowra. Fortunately I know the climber involved and the area you mean, Amanda. There certainly is enough rock around to bolt other routes if you don't like his routes! I think it is much more interesting for every route developer to have there own style... from ground up, naked, chalk free, solo trad-tragics to 5 metre sportathons, it all adds to the fun and variety of our sport. Vive la difference, I say!
