thanks for all the info everyone!

i'm just going to head up regardless and see what happens. bit of an adventure.
a friend is also heading there with bit of a posse later on, so it sounds like there will be a few around.
there is always plenty of stuff to do by yourself anyway.

i will PM you gordoste (just read your trip report on the initiation... im even more excited now!).

probably will make my way up from melbourne on the 30th (a wednesday).
the only issue seems to be getting from Porepunkah to the campground (how far is it?).
any ideas?

it doesn't really sound like the place to be without a car.
but that'll make it more epic i guess, and epics = fun (after they are over, of course).
