Therein lies a lesson to be taken to heart - guard those little rippers (Crux mags) like the sacred jewels of Aussie they are - deposit a copy of each new issue in the Aussie Archives on an ongoing basis and store the rest in a sacred and environmentally controlled (vegemite free) vault in a guarded niche in the Wolgan valley - we don't want lightning strike twice!! ;)

Don't have a complete set of Alpinist but have a few -but the Keeper does have a steaming set of ROCK - an early version of the Dead Sea Scrolls. Always worred about spotaneous combustion with such unstable and heinous material. Good to keep a fire extinguisher and a couple of bottles of cold Fosters close at hand - just in case!

Seems to me you got to really watch the insurgent stuff pretty close - has a tendency of going up in smoke - recalling the suspicious loss of George Witton's " Scapegoat of Empire". After "Breaker Morant" became a prime flick they re-published the book from one of only a couple remaining copies - paid about $30 CDN for it in Whitehorse of all places - checked a few years ago and this second edition was worth over $600 US -
I need more investments like this to fund my climbing retirement - hmm wonder what those early CRUX's will be worth in a few years on E-Bay. :)
