Wow $60 for a pair of climbing shoes seems ridiculously good value (I assume it must be $US?) I do remember theat when I was looking to buy the Diamonds, the Saltic brand that Mountain DEsigns sells seemed to be a bit cheaper than other brands. Will definitly have a look. I'll probably just end up buying another pair of Aces though (they were great).

Luckly for the climbing community my car was broken into at Yarra Bend Park (just on the other side of the Yarra from the Studley Park Boatshed for those that know the area) which is nowhwere near any climbing. My shoes and chalkbag were in a little bag, so I think the thiefs just saw something and smashed the window to get it without realising what it was. Talking to some of the guys from my cricket club (I was playing at the time it happened) it appears to be a problem in that area. Apart from a daypack with three ropes in it being stolen from my car in front of my house one night, ive had a good run. Theft doesnt seem to be a problem at climbing areas in Victoria. Probably cos the climbing areas are well away from urban areas. When I was living in Tassie I used to hear stories about people climbing at Frenchmans Cap having not only the contents of thier cars stolen, but also the engine and wheels stolen!
