On the weekend I had the missfortune to have my car window smashed in, and my old faithful Boreal Aces (and chalk bag) nicked. After 5 years of faithful service and with two resoles the shoes were probably nearing the end of the road anyway, but im still a bit sad to loose them. Still its time to move on. I have a pair of 5-10 Diamonds (a very soft and supple lace up) that I use for most climbing these days, but im now in the market for a shoe with a stiffer base to replace the Aces (ive got designs on Where Angels Fear To Tread at Buffalo for the Christmas break, and the thought of attempting that in a soft sports climbing shoe doesnt appeal...). Does anyone have any recommendations for a good edging / crack climbing boot (similar in style to the Ace)?
