Yeah I was there too BigMike, five days from Wed to Sun, thought i'd set up camp in the northern campground to get away from it all - turned out to be a smart move! Saw you getting dwarfed out by all those trucks and marquees, mind you, I didn't envy those riggers sweating away in the heat on Thursday setting up those big mother marquees. I did catch some of the sweet tucker they were dishing out - steaks in coriander etc. and did clean up quite a bit of rubbish that all those winds blew into the northern campground past the drop loos, someone had to.. It was prety funny wtaching them film at Dec Crag on Friday, as if there weren't already enough boulders at Araps, they made and brought MORE of their own. I caught them spraying them down with water, guess they wanted to make them glisten..makes them look more monsterish I guess..anyway, a pretty amazing gathering. One thing's for sure, these crew definitely were not camping - they had their own trailers, own power supply, own caterers, own make up, own loos even, guess the flush loos and long drops aren't good enough. Well, as long as they brought their own water, and cleaned up their rubbish, well, most of it. |
