Recommendations:
Fly in.
Get stakes at alpine guides in Mt Cook V.
Take a rack with about 4 cams and a half set of wires and a bunch of slings if you are comfortable climbing grade 10 in your boots and dont mind a run out. There is OK rock to the L of the couloir on the small peak (?1942 or something similar) behind Kelman. There are somewhat scary routes on Abel due to choss, and some decent but committing rock routes on Darwin. I'd say stick to alpine, its not worth taking rock shoes to that area.
Stay at Tasman Saddle Hut.
Raid Kelman for hut food.
Climb Mt Green.
Elie can be approached over the top of Walter if the Anna glacier is too broken. |
