You can hire boats from Berowra Waters and it's about 20 minutes put put to Crafty's from there. Costs $110 for the day, so not bad if you get a crew together. You can walk to the other place, J-Bay (or get a boat from a different marina).
Anthony Alexander has been one of the main players. He has some great pics on Flickr, some showing the routes and the tag "deepwatersoloing" will bring up a bunch more...
