Carry on climbing gear @ Sydney Airport: problem |

I carried my harness, belay device and carabiners from Sydney to Geneva via Singapore and London in hand luggage and on the way back I carried quick draws, harness, screwgates, and cams up to a number 1 camalot in hand luggage.
The only problem I had was with my small Nalgene bottles of shampoo and liquid soap which were confiscated in Sydney because they "were not in their original tubes". Clearly it's fine to take sulphuric acid and other chemicals along with you as long as you put it in a branded Shampoo bottle - soap in unmarked bottles on the other hand is far too dangerous to have in the cabin ... idiots. |
