I couldn't agree more, I was just going the long way around in saying that using a Gri Gri would somehow allow some people to become complacent, that's all. Seems I stirred up the proverbial hornets nest to some passionate Gri Gri users. I ought to be careful, as I'm probably offending the very people I'm relying on in order for me to become a more educated climber. On the flip side, I have seen many idiots using a standard belay device watching other climbers than their own ... that's scary as hell. Should change my name to sparky, I always seem to cause fires with such small comments. ;o)
