I think that point was past a while ago. I was last year on a commercial expedition. Turned out everything was subcontracted to the Sherpas. trek in logistics, base camp logistics, on mountain logistics; each to different Sherpa groups. The company organised airfares, and hotel in Kathmandu: and a western guide who hadn't been on the mounatin before. I think the Sherpas are just too polite to express what they really thought of these carnivals!
