5.10 mountain masters (or mountain maids, crap name that) are pretty bad quality. Mine started peeling soon after purchase and the stitching around the tongues gave in after about 3 weeks of use. Now they have had a year of use. They still stick to rock well but the tread is gone from the soles and walking on leaf litter or grass near cliff edges is a potentially lethal endeavour.

Did a lot of routes requiring walking off last year and modify shoes depending on terrain. Have decided:
Rap off where possible

Rock shoes if path down is rock scrambling and less than about 4 pitches

Thongs clipped on harness if lengthy walk expected but on reasonable terrain ie a path.

Dunlop Volleys in small day pack with water, food, head torch etc if a long multipitch. One pack between 2, second gets to carry it, tough luck if its a chimney. Tevas are OK but surprisingly heavy.

Basically anything is far easier than having to carry alpine boots and crampons and ice tools up technical alpine rock routes.
